Rare Alvar Aalto medal by Finnish artist Eila Hiltunen, made to celebrate the inauguration of Aalto's iconic Finlandia Hall (Helsinki, Finland) in 1974 (completed between 1971-1975).

Solid bronze, heavy, weight 456 gram.

Impressed with manufacturer's mark KULTATEOLLISUUS and number 326, also inscribed with the raised artist's signature Eila Hiltunen and date -74. Original case follows.

Eila Hiltunen is one of the most notable Finnish 20th Century artist and sculptors, best known for the abstract Sibelius monument (1967) in Helsinki, Finland. A smaller version of the monument stands on the grounds of the United Nations headquarters in New York City, USA.
