Pair of floor lamps by Finnish lighting designer Paavo Tynell, model No.9609.
Manufactured by Taito Oy, Finland, late 1940s.
Both pieces impressed with manufacturer's label TAITO and model number 9609.
Additional single example available with a wooden splint shade.
Brass, wicker, aluminum, linen, lacquered cast iron.
154 x 70 x 38 cm.
Very good condition with patina, some minor wear due to its age. Newly wired, handmade shades.

Paavo Tynell (1890-1973) "The Man Who Illuminated Finland" was a Finnish industrial designer with a specialty in lighting design. He was also co-founder of the art metal work and lighting company Oy Taito Ab and had a successful career as a freelance designer for various companies and architects such as Alvar Aalto and Aarne Ervi. ~
