Rare and unique library ceiling lamp by Paavo Tynell

Custom order piece originally made for a library in a private residence in Helsinki, Finland

Taito Oy, late 1940s

Variation from Tynell's model 1982 N ceiling lamp, with a custom made L-shaped brass stem including original brass fittings.

Shade is lacquered metal with leather wrapping and a frost glass diffuser.

The piece could be used as a reading lamp as originally intended above a daybed or armchair, but also as a desk lamp or similar.
