Counter balance ceiling lamp by Finnish lighting designer  Lisa  Johansson- Pape.

Model designed in 1947

Manufactured by Orno Oy, Finland, late 1940s.

Impressed with manufacturers label ORNO.

Perforated painted aluminium and brass. Newly rewired.

Adjustable height 80 - 120 cm.

26 cm diameter x 29.5 h cm (shade only)

Literature: Stockmann Lighting Catalog nr.53 (1951), pg.18 (model 1314 with a different perforation pattern and without counter balance function).

Lisa  Johansson- Pape was a successful industrial designer during 1940-1960s and is considered as one of the most important Mid-Century Modern lighting designers from Finland among with Paavo Tynell.  Johansson- Pape has won a gold medal in Milan Triennale in 1954 and a silver medal in 1951 for her lamp designs.
