George Nakashima, a leader in the American Studio furniture movement, born
 in Spokane, Washington in 1905 to Japanese immigrants.  

Today, Nakashima furniture is collected and exhibited in museums. His work in permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, University of Michigan Museum of Art, Smithsonian, as well collections of Stephen Spielberg, George Lucas, Diane von Furstenberg, and the late Steve Jobs.

Nakashima’s artistry is best captured in his studio-made, rare wood selection tables, benches, and chairs.
